Safe Buying: How to Ensure You’re Getting the Real Deal

Recently, AfterShokz has noticed a spike in the distribution of unauthentic headphones and headphones obtained illegally that are being sold by unauthorized resellers. We’ve decided to round up some do’s and don’ts to make sure you’re purchasing the real deal from an authorized reseller.

DO
  • Purchase from an authorized seller. Our headphones are sold in hundreds of stores, so finding AfterShokz at a local retailer shouldn’t be an issue. Click here to find a retailer near you.
  • Claim your product under warranty. Every authentic pair of headphones will have information on registering for the two-year warranty inside the box. If you do not see this, you may have purchased a counterfeit pair. Headphones that are not authentic will not be covered under our warranty.
  • Report suspicious activity regarding AfterShokz. If you see something, say something! Email,  Hello@AfterShokz.com.

DON’T
  • Purchase for a price that’s too good to be true (Spoiler alert: if it seems too good to be true, it probably is!). Authorized sellers abide by our Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy and don’t advertise a price lower than what we’re selling for on our website. If you see AfterShokz headphones for a lower price than what’s on our site, it’s likely an unauthorized reseller selling counterfeit product or product that’s been obtained illegally.
  • Buy headphones if the box appears to be opened or tampered with. If it’s not vacuum sealed, it’s not legit. Also, be sure to look for a serial number on the bottom of the package. Your serial number will be 12 numbers long and will begin with the model number. Our serial numbers do not contain letters. All authentic AfterShokz products will have one.
  • Trust product sold on social media or sites like eBay and Craigslist. If you cannot find contact information for a seller, or if the contact information is not connecting you with a real person, keep lookin’!
